Kristina Ackley Baumler


Kristina Ackley Baumler is the author of 100 Top Internet Job Sites (March 2000) and co-author (with Hilary Benoit) of Online Web Design (August 2001). She works as communications director for Freddie Mac. She owns and operates Webfooted Communications–a career, communications, and facilitation consulting firm located in Herndon, VA.

As a communications specialist for more than 20 years, and an online user since 1985, she integrates her two interests to effectively meet personal and professional goals. An avid editor and writer, Kristina has also written feature articles and poetry. She speaks and writes for diverse audiences on topics such as career searching and the Internet, and helped hundreds of job seekers as Monster.com’s Nonprofit Career Expert (1999-2001).

She has held a number of leadership positions for the American Cancer Society since 2001, and currently participates on the Event Leadership Team for Relay For Life of N 5orthern Virginia and as the Sharing Our Story lead for the National Volunteer Training Team. Kristina previously served on the Board of Directors for Herndon-Reston FISH  and ran BINGO Night for her children’s PTA.

Kristina holds a master’s degree in Public Relations Management from the University of Maryland at College Park and a bachelor’s degree in English, with a German minor and writing concentration, from Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH. She resides in Northern Virginia with her family.
